Privacy Policy
Short version: this site collects almost nothing. If you send a message, I keep it so I can reply. No ad trackers, no selling data.
Last updated: August 17, 2026
1. Who is responsible
Dan Lopatnov, independent software developer, Canada. Contact: danlopatnov@gmail.com.
2. What is collected, and why
- Contact form — your email address and the message you write. Used only to reply to you and, if we work together, to plan the project. Legal basis: your request / consent.
- Server logs — the hosting provider (Google Firebase) automatically records technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time, to keep the site secure and running. These logs are kept for a short period and are not used to identify you.
- Display preferences — if you change the look of the site (colours, font), the choice is stored in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device.
There are no advertising cookies, no analytics profiles, and no data is sold or shared for marketing.
3. Embedded demos
The project demos are live websites loaded from their own addresses inside a frame. When you interact with them, you are using those sites and their privacy policies apply. Some are client products; I do not receive data you enter into them through this portfolio.
4. Who processes the data
- Google Firebase — hosts this website (servers may be located outside your country).
- Resend — delivers contact-form messages to my inbox as email.
- Google Fonts — fonts are downloaded at build time and served from this site, so your browser does not contact Google to display them.
5. How long it is kept
Messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and, if we work together, for the duration of the project plus the period required for accounting. You can ask me to delete them at any time.
6. Your rights
You can ask what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent at any time by emailing danlopatnov@gmail.com. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority.
7. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, the contact form is protected against automated abuse, and access to messages is limited to me. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive information (passwords, card numbers) through the form.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
